Your privacy is important to you, and it's important to me!

 

When you perform a search using FORCE, four things occur with it:

  1. Your search term is sent to the search engine you choose
  2. Your search term is sent to YouTube so as to return relevant videos
  3. Your search term is sent to Yahoo!, which provides related searches
  4. Your search term is saved on your computer as a history item - in much the same way your browser preserves a history of Web pages you've visited

In the future, your search term may be used to provide relevant products and services, much in the same way Google AdSense works.

 

At no time are your search terms sent to, or accessable by me in any way. Just to put your mind at ease.

• How do I provide feedback?

I would love to hear what you have to say about Search Automator.

The easiest way of doing this is through the feedback page (your email addess is not required).

• What about a MAC version?

A Mac version of Search Automator FORCE would be fantastic! Unfortunately, at this time, the development software used to create FORCE doesn't support Macs. If/when it ever does, you'll likely see a Mac version ASAP!

• Why Are you giving this version away for free?

There are several reasons for doing this, with the main one being the goal of getting it into as many peoples' hands as possible.

 

Sure, I intend on generating a revenue with it, but I've decided to experiment with a new revenue model which forgoes selling the software directly to the customer.

• Can I distribute FORCE to others?

You can freely distribute FORCE any way you like, as long as you do the following:

  • Distribute the official setup.exe as it is, with no alterations/changes of any sort
  • You distribute it for FREE!
• Isn't Using Google Good Enough?

Um, have you USED FORCE?!? :)

 

Google is a fantastic - there's no doubt about it. But the goal of FORCE is not to compete with search engines - any search engine, the goal is to create a better interface for search.

 

Most search engines are concerned about what happens after you click the Search button, hence they see the need to only provide a text box where you enter your search and a button that sends your request. I'm more interested in what happens before you click a Search button, because I think that given the right choices before you search, you'll discover things faster and easier.

• Where Did The Name, Force, Come From?

It's mainly a play on words. Since this is the 4th version of Search Automator, I wanted something that not only incorporated '4' (phonetically) but also represented something powerful. FORCE seemed to fit perfectly!.
